Responsibilities

  • Keep Sutherland aligned: Measure and monitor existing policies and procedures; monitors shared services metrics and service level agreements. Implements proactive measures to mitigate risk and issues
  • Strengthen relationships: Establish and maintain communication with clients and/or team members; understand needs, resolve issues, and meet expectations; Create sustainable solutions to individual employee challenges
  • Promote an open-door policy: Remain available to the team and encourage a collaborative environment
  • Take the lead: Establish and execute HR strategies to address challenges with performance and employee retention and engagement; work closely with IT leaders to ensure overall HR technology roadmap is staged, resourced and aligned with the overall technology architecture for the company; manage HR systems, work schedules, resources allocations for capital projects and continuous improvement requests; Manages the GHR Shared Service Staff including new hire decisions, training, work assignments, commendation, and discipline and leadership
  • Shape workplace culture: Offer support, boost engagement, and inspire positive attitudes; promote our Extra Mile and Platinum Awards programs
  • Help others: Support Global HR Shared Services Contact Center (GHRSSC); ensure all employee, manager and HR team inquiries are accurately addressed in a professional, cost-effective, timely manner

Qualifications

Education Requirements: Graduate; MBA with specialization in HR

Experience Requirements: 9-10 years’ experience in HR / Benefits shared services; 5+ years of experience in a team management; experience in managing a global (US / Europe / Asia) HR shared services set up

 

To succeed in this position, you must:

 

  • Have excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Have ability to work with a diverse group of employees and individuals
  • Have strong Project Management skills; experience of managing transitions will be preferred
  • Be able to efficiently manage time and keep track of multiple schedules, meetings, and initiatives
  • Have demonstrated ability to develop, administer and evaluate HR policies, practices and systems
  • Have knowledge of Business Intelligence systems capabilities (Dashboards, Ad-hoc reporting, e.t.c.)
  • Have track record of success in change management of global HR initiatives, leading in a matrix structure
  • Have demonstrated leadership skills; be able to take the lead in making improvements and resolving issues
  • Have strong execution and decision making capabilities; act with independence & discretion in routine matters
  • Have strong analytical skills; be able to interpret data, identify trends, and make suggestions for improvements
  • Be pro-active in developing trust and professional rapport with employees and team members; able to be a team-player
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate in a clear, constructive, and professional manner
  • Have knowledge of global HR processes & policies, including HR Legal requirements of the countries like North America, Canada and Jamaica
  • Have knowledge of various areas of HR including benefits, employment, pay-related practices/process, compensation and company policies and procedures
